Austin Stone Community Church Building "seeks new direction with same vision"

Block 16 Architects, is nearing completion on construction drawings for the Austin Stone Community Church's new building located at St. Johns and I-35, according to Principal Stuart Alderman.

Collaborating with California-based design architects Visioneering Architects, Block 16 Architects is acting as the local architects of record on the project. Block 16 is using innovative Revit BIM software to produce construction documents that are extracted from the creation of a three dimensional computer model, according to Block 16 Architects Project Manager Wilson Robertson.

Austin Stone Pastor Dave Barrett explained in a recent church blog that the church is pursuing the same original vision for a flexible permanent worship space with a focus on non-profit ministry. However, the church has decided to renovate and adapting the existing retirement center instead of building a completely new building.

The Village on South Congress Opens

Designed by Block 16 Architects, the Village on South Congress first phase is complete. The mixed-use project includes commercial / retail space along with lofts and townhomes.

The Pavilion at Great Hills Assisted Living scheduled for completion in Spring 2010

The Pavilion at Great Hills Assisted Living and Memory Care Community continues to make progress in construction. The 142-unit project, designed by Block 16 Architects, is being developed by Paul Denucci and will be managed by Frontier Management, LLC.

Block 16 Architects selected for new Austin Best Western Hotel

Block 16 Architects has been selected for a new Best Western hotel located on North Highway 183 in Austin, Texas. According to Block 16 Principal Brian Bishop, the four-story hotel will include approximately 75 rooms. The hotel is a compact design with an urban aesthetic. The hotel is being developed by Sohil Momin. Construction is expected to begin in early 2010. Block 16 has done hospitality projects throughout the United States for Motel 6, Studio 6 Extended Stay, and Comfort Suites.

Renovation construction almost complete at UT's Alpha Phi Sorority

Block 16's design for a major renovation of the University of Texas Alpha Phi sorority Omega Chapter nears completion in time for the new semester. The 75 year-old house, located just south of the Littlefield Fountain on University Avenue has a rich history and has been transformed several times. The project is being built by RGD Builders, Inc. Carolyn Van Meter is the Block 16 Project Manager.
